This position involves close collaboration with various teams across our food production plant. You will leverage your expertise in operating material handling equipment to optimize warehouse organization, maintain accurate inventory for food ingredients and products, and facilitate the timely shipment of finished goods.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently for the loading, unloading, and movement of food ingredients and finished products.
  • Ensure precise placement and systematic arrangement of inventory within designated food-grade warehouse areas, adhering to established guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with warehouse and production personnel to improve operational flow, reinforce safety regulations specific to food handling, and ensure the effective utilization of equipment.
  • Conduct regular checks on food inventory levels and assist in maintaining accurate stock records and reports relevant to food manufacturing.
  • Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or operational issues promptly, contributing to timely resolutions to avoid production delays.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work environment, adhering to all food safety and general safety regulations.
  • Facilitate the efficient processing of incoming and outgoing shipments of food-related materials and products, complying with all relevant standards.
  • Perform other warehouse and material handling tasks as required to support food manufacturing operations.

Warehouse Operations Advancement Program (Food Focus):

Our specialized Warehouse Operations Advancement Program offers a unique opportunity to develop comprehensive skills in warehouse management within the food manufacturing sector over an 18-month period. Through varied assignments, participants will gain practical insights into critical areas:

  • An assignment concentrating on the specifics of food inventory management and the proper handling of diverse food ingredients and packaging materials.
  • An assignment focused on enhancing operational efficiency within a food production environment, including logistics coordination and distribution strategies for food products.
  • An assignment emphasizing warehouse technology relevant to food manufacturing, including automated systems and data management tools for tracking food-related inventory.
  • Successful completion of this program will lead to a full-time Material Handler role with significant involvement in the daily warehouse functions supporting food manufacturing.

Compensation

The anticipated annual compensation for this Material Handler position in our Food Manufacturing facility is $50,000. This figure is subject to adjustments based on the specific work location and the individual's qualifications. Required Qualifications:

  • Unrestricted right to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in warehousing, logistics, or food safety are advantageous.
  • Demonstrable experience in warehouse operations, inventory handling, or related roles, preferably within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in the safe and effective operation of forklift equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail, particularly regarding food safety and quality.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment within a food production setting.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and evenings if required by the food manufacturing schedule.
