Job Overview:
The Shipping Selector role at Cargill is responsible for identifying and selecting products to fulfill customer orders within a climate-controlled warehouse setting. This key position plays a crucial part in maintaining the smooth flow of products while strictly following food safety guidelines and operational protocols. The position is part of Cargill's protein and salt division, supporting the company’s mission to deliver premium quality food items to customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and pick products efficiently to fulfill customer orders in a temperature-sensitive environment
- Properly stack and wrap products on pallets according to selection standards
- Utilize electric pallet jacks or forklifts for safe transportation of products
- Carry out general warehouse tasks as required to maintain operational efficiency
Qualifications:
- Ability to operate an electric pallet jack
- Ensure timely and efficient product selection and throughput
- Adhere to established standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Report any issues in the selection process and suggest improvements to optimize workflows
- Comply with all food safety standards and operational guidelines
- Follow all safety procedures to ensure a secure work environment
Preferred Skills:
- Fluency in additional languages is a plus
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Previous experience using high reach trucks
- Experience in fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environments
- Prior leadership experience in meat industry or warehouse settings
